Hilton Grand Vacations rings in the new year with Honolulu Habitat
On Friday, January 12th, Hilton Grand Vacations teamed up with Honolulu Habitat for a day of building homes and giving back.
Led by our AmeriCorps volunteer construction crew leader Samarra Jones and volunteer site supervisor Karl Fechner, 13 HGV volunteers participated in the meticulous work of interior paint and exterior paint prep for the day. Thanks to HGV, the 4-bed, 2-bath home for the Lenchanko-Andrade family remains on track to be completed in the upcoming month.
To start the day, volunteers joined Katrina Schwarz, Honolulu Habitat’s volunteer coordinator, for morning stretches! HGV’s team of volunteers jumped right in, painting the interior of the home, taping off doors and windows in preparation for exterior paint, and helping clean and prepare the home for floor installation scheduled later this month.

This was HGV’s fourth home build with Honolulu Habitat. Beyond these hands-on volunteer efforts, HGV continues to demonstrate its dedication to supporting organizations that help strengthen their communities. Notably, HGV has generously donated $100,000 to Habitat for Humanity nation-wide, contributing to the organization’s mission of providing affordable housing and assistance to homeless and vulnerable families. In 2022, HGV donated nearly $200,000 and rallied more than 190 volunteers to local nonprofit organizations through their corporate social responsibility platform, HGV Serves.
Joryn Manley, communication coordinator for HGV’s Hawaii region, expressed the significance of HGV’s involvement within their community.
“It is our kuleana to support organizations that strengthen the communities where Hilton Grand Vacations’ team members live and work. We are proud to continue partnering with Habitat for Humanity as they work to create housing solutions here in Hawaii, and in this new year, we look forward to continuing to work with community to identify the ways our support can be the most meaningful.”
Mahalo nui to HGV for helping us build homes, community and hope. We look forward to another year of building together!
