Everyone deserves a place to call home. But right now, more than 24,000 people in Hawaii are without a decent place to live. Children are growing up in inadequate and overcrowded homes, while parents struggle to make ends meet. For too many, the cost of “home” is simply out of reach.
That’s why I’ve joined Honolulu Habitat’s Wahine Build.
Honolulu Habitat for Humanity has been helping low-income families build and repair affordable homes since 1988. Wahine Build is their annual project to educate and mobilize women in support of affordable housing on Oahu. This spring, I’ll join 200 other women in building a Habitat home from foundation to finish.

EXAMPLE: “I have been volunteering with Habitat for over a year now and have seen the impact of their work firsthand. This summer I helped build a home with a family in Waimanalo and I’ll tell you, it’s tough work! But meeting the homeowners and learning how much this house means to them made it all worth it. There are no words to describe the feeling of watching someone’s life change right in front of you.”
I have pledged to raise $[XXXX] for Wahine Build and need your help to reach my goal. Can I count on you to support me? Any amount will make an enormous difference. My deadline is July 31, 2023.
How to donate: You can make a secure donation online to my personal fundraising page here [LINK DONATION PAGE] or via check made out to Honolulu Habitat for Humanity. You can mail checks to 922 Austin Lane C1, Honolulu, HI 96817 and write my name in the memo. They will let me know you donated.
I’ll send you an update soon on my fundraising success! Of course, feel free to text/call (XXX) XXX-XXXX or email me at email@example.com if you have questions. You can also learn more about the work of Habitat at www.honoluluhabitat.org.

A decent place to live removes the barriers to opportunity, success and health that have been part of a family’s life for years, if not generations.
Everyone deserves a decent place to live, and everyone can do something today to help make that possible for another family. That’s why I’m raising funds for Honolulu Habitat’s Wahine Build. Will you join me? [LINK]
