Construction Intern

Short Description: This position is an internship which will focus on Residential home construction, specifically in the non-profit realm. The applicant will be responsible for learning, and subsequently training, volunteer laborers throughout each phase of the construction process. Such tasks may include, but may not be limited to: supervision of all personnel on the job site, providing a safe work site, executing the construction activities of the affiliate to meet the quality, cost and scheduled goals, and various other items performed by HHH from time to time. This includes the supervision of subcontractors, material deliveries, leading and teaching volunteers on site, and supervision while on-site of Vista National Service Member(s). This is a year-long, physically demanding internship with 5 days a week of on site, hands on learning of construction techniques and applications. Only those looking to build a career in the residential construction industry need apply.

AmeriCorps National - Construction Crew Leader

Short Description: As a Construction Crew Leader, you are integral part of building homes and better neighborhoods in our service area. This might include hands on construction tasks such as site prep, framing, insulation, drywall, flooring, roofing, finish carpentry and landscaping. For example, you might be working with new home builds, Critical Home Repair (CHR), and home preservation projects. This could look like completing 4 new builds and 4 Critical Home Repair (CHR)/Home Preservation homes. You can give us a boost to significantly increase the number of families our affiliate is able to serve through our programs and construction projects.

Short Description: This position is responsible for assisting the ReStore and volunteers with every aspect of ReStore operations. This includes possessing an understanding and appreciation for the mission of Honolulu Habitat for Humanity; strong problem-solving skills; the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment; multi-tasking; detail-oriented; able to work independently; and able to deal with all kinds of individuals while remaining consistent in keeping a professional demeanor.
