October's Art Doors for Charity

Honolulu Habitat for Humanity is officially launching it's auction on our October Art Doors for Charity on Friday, October 2nd from 4pm - 9pm. Host currently TBA.

Every school year the Punahou Visual Arts Department recognizes outstanding art students.  The students are recognized by their teachers and then voted on by the entire Visual Art Department Faculty.  The students who are recognized are invited to an Art Workshop that usually lasts for two days.  This year, working with Honolulu Habitat for Humanity, the students were given doors that were donated from Pali Momi and given a chance to develop and create their own art piece.

Many students worked together, and only one took on the task of working alone.  Each piece is a result of the students collaborating on ideas and execution of the art work.

Now, the students' artwork will be auctioned off throughout the next few months at local events, such as First Friday, and at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore. All proceeds from October's auction will go towards our charity of the month, Ho'ola Na Pua, and Honolulu Habitat for Humanity.

Bidding will start on Friday, October 2nd at First Friday at Black Cat Tattoo in Chinatown. From October 3rd - October 17th, bidding for the door will be held at Black Cat Tattoo. You can stop by any time to place your bid.

Winners will be announced on the last night of bidding on October 17th at Ho'ola Na Pua's second annual Gala at the Pacific Club from 6pm - 10pm. Tickets are currently sold out.

*The winner will be contacted via phone on October 18th, and will be announced on our Facebook page.

Restore's Putt Putt Challenge

The ReStore has a new way for customers to get discounts! Volunteers at the ReStore have built 3 Miniature Golf Holes made entirely out of items in the ReStore. Customers will have a daily opportunity to try their luck on any of the courses in order to receive discounts up to 25% off their entire purchase.

How It Works:

Donate a $1 to the ReStore and choose which of the three miniature golf holes you would like to try out.

Discounts will be determined by the number of strokes it takes you to complete the course. The lower the number of strokes the higher the discount.

  • Hole in one gets you 25% off your entire purchase.
  • Two strokes gets you 20% off
  • Three strokes gets you 15% off
  • 4 Strokes gets you 10% off
  • 5 or more strokes gets you 5% off

Want to improve your 1st score, donate $1 and choose from the two remaining miniature golf courses to see if you can improve your score. Higher of the two discounts will be applied at checkout.
